All brands of stabilizer takes time disolve

Clorox brand is just as good or better than other brands. No stabilizer dissolves quickly but I find it best to put it in a bucket of water and let it sit a bit. Pour directly into skimmer it dissolves a lot quicker then pouring it directly into the deep end of pool. I now buy Chlorox pool chemicals and are very pleased with them.

Worked for me

Instead of using a sock, I used a zippered laundry bag (used for lingerie), tied off side of pool, and let sit in front of jets for 20 minutes and squeezed. Worked beautifully!

Takes forever to dissolve

takes forever to dissolve. test results show that i need to put in 8 lbs. i would be brushing all night long if i did that.

Don’t waste your money

This does not dissolve. I’ve tried the nylon sock trick, tried dissolving it in boiling water. I’ve had some sitting in room temp for over a week now just to see if it dissolves over time. It.does.not.dissolve

Dissolve Chlorine Stabilizer

It works, I read other reviews and chose to add some to a gallon water jug and shake up aggressively and pour the dissolved solution into the pool and being careful not to pour out granules and then refill and continue the process a few times. Also letting it sit for a few minutes in the container seemed to help dissolve it.

Dispensing hint!

This product works just fine. Like others have said, it will take a few days to register on the test, do not add more the next day thinking that it is not working. It takes time! Also if you use the Clorox app and have all of your pool info entered, it will tell you how much product you will need to use. As for the dispensing &;dissolving of the stabilizer, a little trick I learned is to cut the leg off of an old stocking or pantyhose and fill it with the stabilizer, then tie it to the ladder or side of pool allowing it to hang in the water. This way it won’t be sitting on the bottom of your pool. And you can take it out of needed and not waste it. It doesn’t really dissolve on its own that fast, so every so often just squeeze the bag à couple times and it will help dispense it into the water quicker. Hope this helps.

Chlorine Stanilizer

I used to put the stabilizer in the deep end of the pool and would brush it and brush it for at least an hour until it dissolved. Then I noticed that adding it through the skimmer was the preferred method. So I did that. It was much easier. You just have to add it in very slowly. I also saw someone else’s review that suggested putting it in a skimmer sock and letting it dissolve that way. That sounds like a good idea. It definitely stabilizes the chlorine.

This product works, but it does not dissolve quick enough.

Stability

Reading other reviews I gathered that this product was difficult to dissolve for some. I had an extra tablet float so I put a large dose in the floater and opened it about halfway. When I tested the water the next day the level had risen from almost zero to perfect level. So far the product reading has been even for the last week. The product has been slowly desolving in the float. I take the float out when we swim only. It has done ok with the clorine compared to before when it was depleted in about 48 hours due to the 100° weather. I still struggle a bit keeping clorine past 2 but that is probably my own doing because I am overly cautious about too much shock and too much chlorine tablet release in my 14’x3′ pool Overall I’m pleased, with reservation that clorine seems to still struggle to stay above 2, but it’s better than 1 and 0 like before.

Great product!

Great product. The key to getting this to completely dissolve is by adding the amount you need in a skimmer sock, tying a knot in it, then placing it in your skimmer basket. It does a great job of dissolving it.

Not happy

I am not happy woth this product. It does not dissolve. I’ve had some sitting in a bucket for a week now and it will not dissolve. My tests strip and app show I need it but it is not working. I’m quite ticked about wasting $15 on this!

TBs experience

I have an 18×36 in ground vinyl pool. I purchased this stabilizer because I like and trust the Clorox brand. I put about a half cup in the deep end just to see how it would dissolve. It didn’t. I took a 32 oz measuring container and put about 1 and a half cups to see if it dissolved. After stirring often over an hour, I left it under the gazebo. It never dissolved but got hard as a rock. I will not be using this product. I also purchased the Clorox liquid which I love!!

Nice product

Seems to work pretty well. My pool is in full sun all day so my chlorine always dissipated quickly. With the chlorine stabilizer it seems to last much longer.

Chlorine stabilizer

Increased my chlorine Stabilizer level. You have to run your pump 24 hours after adding it and you can’t backwash the pool for 48 hours. Just had to measure it and add it to the filter.

The Desert Sun Will Zap Your Chlorine

The sun here in the desert can really lower your chlorine levels, which can mess up your PH, invite algae, and waste money. I don’t know how it does it, but the Clorox Chlorine Stabilizer really keep the chlorine in the pool, where it belongs.

Nothing but issues

I added 1/2 of why it said to our above ground pool. It still isn’t registering that it has any and for a week the Chlorine read as high afterwards and I couldn’t get it down!

Good product, but …

I had some work done on my pool over the winter, so I needed to treat the new water this spring. This stabilizer works well, and the product seemed to dissolve a bit faster that other’s I’ve used. I also liked the bag package, as I was using the entire amount anyway. I’m not sure the bag would protect a partial amount until next season though.

When I first got a pool there was no such thing as stabilizer. Trying to maintain chlorine levels in the Florida heat and sun was nearly impossible. Stabilizer sure helps with this problem. I live Chlorox brand pool products and was very pleased when they added stabilizer to their product line. It works great. I can get it at nearby department stores. Very convenient.

Maintaining proper CYA (stabilizer) is very important. I find getting a good reading somewhat challenging with a home test, but that has nothing to do with the product.

Great for lasting chlorine

Here in North Texas, the blistering hot sun can bring summer temps to 108 degrees for many days at a time. Those long stretches of hot summer sun will deplete your chlorine almost as fast as you can put it in! I have my pool cleaned and treated by a pool company once a week now. They use long-lasting, slow-dissolving chlorine tablets, but the hot sun will deplete the chlorine between visits. So if we want to use the pool all week, we still need to use some chemicals mid-week. This stabilizer is great to help the chlorine last longer without being depleted so quickly.

Use it in my 24,000 gallon pool. Add through skimmer in filter mode… will land in sand and dissolve. Takes a few days. All stabilizer takes a long time to dissolve.

Doesn’t work …. put 4 lbs in no change 4 more lbs no Change….like it never happened…. tried this and the pods

Where is it?

I tried it as directed and all the beads just piled up in my pump system. Thought they all dissolved. I had my daughter add another 1.5 lbs and hours later still no reading on test strips. I cleaned out my filter and pump and dumped a 1.5 lbs into a dress sock and laid it inside the skimmer. Everything dissolved and was dispersed in the pool by the pump but still the product never registers on the test strips. Very frustrating for me it’s my 1st pool

Stabilizer?

Clorox app said to add 5.5 pounds of Stabilizer, I did but two days later it still says add 5.5 lbs of stabilizer? My pool is round 28ft 52 in. Above ground.

Slowly pour into skimmer, don’t backwash for at least 2 days, then take read after a few days. Repeat as necessary.

Great product

First off it doesn’t dissolve right away. I found this out the hard way. Even the stabilizer from the pool stores doesn’t dissolve quickly. My suggestion is to get an old sock (a long one), fill it with stabilizer, tie it off and then hang it over the edge of the pool un the water. I let mine sit for a few hours then went out and squeezed the sock until all the stabilizer was disolved and gone. Didn’t take too long and was super easy. Worked perfect for me. Just my two cents. Works. Read directions and be patient

I have used this product for 5 years now and share a couple of the experiences of other reviewers. I slowly add it directly to my skimmer at a rate of 2 cups over 5 minutes (rough estimate). This goes through my skimmer into my sand filter. I do not backwash the filter for a least a couple of days. When I do eventually backwash, I have never seen any of the stabilizer get “washed out” as waste. I wait until at least the next day to take a reading using the strips. The Clorox strips are reliable. I have compared them directly to the electronic test system that my local pool store uses. The first time I used this product I made the mistake of adding it to fast. That was the only time that I saw the stabilizer being deposited back into my pool. It was a little messy but I just vacuumed it up. I have not needed to pre-dissolve this into a solution first. It dissolves on its own with time, at least a couple of days. Once everything is balanced I do not have to add very much more of this stuff throughout the season. It does a good job of keeping my chlorine from being eaten up by the sun too fast. Overall, I love the product and know that it does work. I have a 5000 gallon pool and run a sand filter that pumps about 2000 gal/hour. I also keep my pool heated to about 85-90 degrees (warm enough for the young kids to not freeze). I hope this information helps in some way.

This product sucks…

No matter what you do this product will not dissolve. I have tried everything. Even tried dissolving in 5 gallons of boiling water. No luck. It says on the label to not let it set on pool bottom. Yeah, good luck with that. There has got to be a better product, possibly a liquid. I tried for hours, hot water /mix, than mix some more… Will NOT buy this ever again.

Does no work

Used a scale to insure I was adding proper amount. Stays on the bottom of the pool. Waited 2 days absolutely no change on readings. Disappointed because I am striving for a perfect reading on my Clorox app.

Doesn’t work

Tried dissolving it in water and adding it, slowly adding it to skimmer, and slowly adding it straight into the pool then brushing to dissolve it. Tested 24hrs. And 48hrs after. It was all dissolved and still had no effect.

Buyer beware

Must predissolve, especially if you’re adding to the skimmer as recommended, it clogged up our pump and blew out one of the pump seals due to the increase in pressure.

Doesn’t work

Put the recommended dosage, nothing after 24 hours. It just sat on the bottom of the pool. Doubled it after 24 hours and still nothing.

Works but predilute it in a 2 qt container for a couple hrs then add in around edge. It’s cyanaric acid. It’s a stabilizer

Stabilizer doesn’t work

Test said my stabilizer was low to add six lbs I put four pounds in waited 3 days checked it again said it was still on zero I still needed to add six more lbs doesn’t work

Make sure you add slowly

This needs to be added very slowly and given lots of time to dissolve (as in, I would add this over a period of time from 2 hours to an entire 24-48 hours). This stuff will all end up in your sand filter to be backwashed away if you add it too quickly – or simply clumped up invisibly in the bottom of the pool. Otherwise, it is what it is.

Clorox Stabilizer

Works as advertised. These other reviewers need to read a little before they review. After you add this you need to wait a few days after adding this before you test your CYA or add more. It takes several days to register on the tests. Read more and talk less.

Does not work

Added 2lbs according to their problem solving n had no effect. Next day tested the same n gave the same solution add 2lbs i did it again n next day still no change. Waste of money.

Works!

Don’t use recommended amount. Now my CYA is almost too high.
