I use Clorox xblue tabs religiously. They keep my water crystal clear, prevent algae, and are treated to keep the sun from breaking down the chlorine. I drop a tablet in my skimmer and I am good for a couple of days.

Beware

Be VERY careful. These are ultra strong. Every time I try to open the container while holding my breath, I still manage to get am enormous amount of chlorine vapor that sears my nose and throat. I don’t have this with HTH. And then when I close up the container, I can still smell it in the air. Be EXTREMELY cautious!!!! Or better yet, do not buy

Good Chlorine Tabs

I’ve been using chlorine tabs for a long time and these are as good as they come. They last a reasonable amount of time and keep the chlorine level in my pool where I want it. It’s easy to put these tabs into my floater and let them do their job over the week. Then I put more in the next week and all done. My pool stays sparkly clean.

Clorox XtraBlue Chlorinating Tablets are GREAT.

Clorox XtraBlue Chlorinating Tablets are what I have been using for years and do the job of disinfecting to pool and killing algae just the way it is supposed to work. I have used less expensive tablets a few times in the past without the same pleasant results. I just put one tablet into my dispenser about every 6 or 7 days depending on how the dispenser is set and my pool is sparkling clear. Over a period of time I have learned keeping the pool chemically balanced is very important to maintain an inviting pool. Living in Florida we can use our pool a full 7 months of the year without the need of heating it and my solar heater can extend that to an easy 10 months. With the Clorox Pool Program it is easy to maintain the pool the year round.

Great product

These chlorine tablets work better than any tablets we have tried in the past. It gets really hot where we live and most tablets dissolve very quickly but these last a little bit longer and work great. I love how clean our pool stays.

You must be careful with the tablet with handling

I love using the extra chlorine tablets. I use it for my pump and my floating pool or the floor in the dispenser in the pool. I have no qualms with were using it. The only thing that I can say about the chlorine tablet is that it is kind of expensive now and you get a small amount for a small tub.

Great tabs that keep my pool sparkling

These Chlorinating tablets are good quality, easy to use and fit perfectly in my in-line chlorinator. I can fill it and forget about it for a while, knowing that the XtraBlue tablets are working to keep the pool clear, sanitized and algae free. The smaller package size is also more convenient than those large and heavy pails that take up a lot of room.

Affordable pool chemicals

I’ve been using Clorox pool products for several years now. They are convenient to find in almost any retail store and the price is always less than pool store products. With weekly chemical testing, my pool has never had problems with algae and the water is crystal clear.

Chlorine Tablets

We’ve owned our pool for three years and Clorox three inch tabs are the only products that we ephave ever used from day one. We usually purchase them from our local warehouse club and they come in good shape, i.e. not many broken tabs. They look like a good consistent quality product and the packaging makes them easy to store and use.

Easy to use clorinating tabs

I like how easy it is to use those chlorinating tabs. I put in two tabs a couple times a week, and it seems to help even keep my water more crystal clear. After struggling for the last year trying to use other pool maintenance brands to balance my pool, I was always confused on how much to use when. Now with the Clorox app I can see exactly what I need, and am guided for how much to use. These tabs seem to work better than what I used last year.

Easy use

Use the tablets to help maintain cya. Use in a floater as well as in chlorination. Tablets last a while and I use every two weeks. I am able to use longer in chlorinator. Easier to use and helps maintain stabilizer and chlorine levels.

Great quality tablet compared to others

I have been using clorox pool xtrablue chlorine tablets for a while and I am very impressed with their performance. They are easy to use and dissolve slowly, it keeps my pool water clear and sanitized. They also have a chlorine stabilizer that protects the chlorine from the sun, making it last longer and saving me money. They also have conditioners that prevent algae growth and make the water feel soft and smooth. My pool looks great and feels great

Excellent product with great value.

I use XtraBlue Chlorinating Tablets with my inline chlorinator and they work great. They keep my water crystal clear as long as my chlorinator itself is working correctly but that’s another not fun story. Due to pricing/easy access (Lowe’s), ease of use and product working as it should I use the whole product line as needed for pool care.

Will need a bigger size

This is a good product but it didn’t last very long in my pool and it took the whole container in less than 2 weeks. The heat was too much for it to maintain the chlorine in my pool. Normally I can put two tablets in every 2-3 days. I had to use 3 tablets to get the desired effect.

we employ these in the little floater cup. Put it in the holder , put that in the water. Keeps the chlorine levels just where I want them. Very easy to use . Eliminates any guess work . We use some disposable gloves to handle them

I’ve been using XtraBlu Clorox chlorinating tablets for the past few months and I’m really happy with them. They’ve kept my pool water crystal clear and free of bacteria and algae. I used to have a lot of problems with my pool water getting cloudy and green, but since I started using these tablets, I haven’t had any problems at all.

No fuss, no mess

If you like Chlorine in the big round bricks, this is the stuff. We like to use it when we take a trip for a week or so. It keeps us from returning home to “Green Soup Suprise”. I would recommend this product for someone with a pool like mine.

This is my favorite product! I think the pool feels so much softer using the Clorox chlorine. The tablets just go into our pool deck and they dissolve easily into the pool. Super easy to use and I like that the tablets come wrapped in plastic

XtraBLUE tabs work great!

I use the xtraBLUE tabs in my pool system chlorinator and it keeps my pool looking great. The tabs are long lasting and I refill them as needed. I only check chlorine and PH levels year round and I really enjoy the combination these tabs provide.

I have been using this product since I’ve had a pool. Being able to add the 3” tablets into an auto chlorination system is ideal. They last a long time and keep pool chlorine chemistry perfect. Even in the hot sunshine in Florida. Pool always clear and algae free.

I have been using these in my floater for the last week since I filled mt pool and it has worked well. They are not melting away like many of the cheaper brands do especially since chlorine became more expensive due to the fire in Louisiana. Really Great Product

I really like the Clorox XtraBlue 3” chlorinating tablets. They are super easy to use and seem to actually last longer that other brands of 3” tablets I have used in the past no matter how much sun the pool gets. The tablets dissolve slowly and do not make the pool water feel harsh. We put ours in the skimmer and they work great. I never have to guess how much to use. I simply follow the easy to read directions on the container. I definitely recommend this product for your pool.

20,000 gallon pool..The Chlorinated tablets works great usually I have 2 in inducer in the summertime and after a rain, once I have the pool balanced. Tablets add to the hardness of the pool and once it up the only way to lower it is drain half the pool. I also add Liquid Chlorination in place of the tablets during colder months. I have found that 2 in the summertime 80-100+ degree days keeps the chlorine level in the ideal range, usually 2 every 4-5 days.

XtraBlue Chlorinating Tablets

After Hurricane Ian it was very difficult to get my pool back the clarity I was used to. Generic chlorine tablets were not working well. Once I started putting the XtraBlue Chlorinating tablets in the chlorinator tube the water quality improved significantly in the first 24 hours along with brushing and cleaning the filter. Great product!!

Effective, feels ok on sensitive skin (IMO)

Definitely effective to use and maintain a swimming pool that is in the hot sun all day during the summer. Water remains pleasant on the skin even though you are using the tablets. Being someone with sensitive skin, I will say using these Chlorinating tablets didn’t affect me at all.

These chlorine tablets work really well. They last a long time and do the job they are designed to do. They are much better than other brands I have tried. Try these and you won’t be disappointed at all.

Easy to use

I normally don’t use chlorinating tablets since I usually use granules. However, these chlorinating tablets are very easy to use and administer to the pool. I will probably continue to use these tablets.

Very nice product

These have a good high percentage chlorine and dissolve as slow as any do, have no problems with them and container seals well keeping smell out of garage which is where I store them so very important.

XtraBlue Tablets, really do the trick

Very easy to use. Very simple to read the ingredients, and to be able to apply the product. Works Great, I would highly recommend this because it does what it is suppose to do and was very easy to use.

Best tabs on the market.

Makes ongoing pool maintenance a bit easier as this type of tablet uses a chemical that both chlorinates and stabilizes the water. Lasts longer than other tablets I’ve used in the past. I noticed that I had less trouble with breakthrough algae when I used these tabs. I like them.

Chlorine tabs

I’ve been using chlorine tablets for quite a few years. It’s my preferred way to chlorinate my pool. These tablets seem to hold up better than most. Some brands I have used seem to crumble easier but these do not.

Overall good tabs

These tabs are easy to use and work great for adding chlorine to the pool. The container was also easy to use compared to others. As with any tabs, they will raise your CYA levels, so keep an eye on that.

Only 2lb of tabs in a 5lb container.

I purchased the 5lb container of 3″ tabs and I noticed while at Lowes it didn’t feel like it was 5lbs. So when I got home the wife and I weighed them and with them still in the container it all only weighed 2.3 lbs. The container was sealed. I looked on the single pack of 3″ tabs and the weight of each one it take 3 to make 1lb which should give me 15 tabs, The container only had 8 tabs in it.

Dependable, fast acting tablets

Love to use these in my pool floater. I drop a couple of these a week during the summer pool season and they last all week, keeping the pool well chlorinated and clear. These are readily available at the store and for a decent price.

Where’s the Stabilizer at?!

My chlorine levels are fine but my CYA/Stabilizer level has been at 0 for the last month or two – coinciding with when I started using these tablets.

Obviously failing

Really? Do I have to teach you that people who buy your pool chlorinating tablets will most likely keep them by the pool? Most pools are outside. Well CLOROX, guess what happens outside? RAIN. SO WHY IS THE PLASTIC CONTAINER WITH A HARD TO OPEN LID NOT…. waterproof? Now I have a $120+ container of noxious half dissolved tabs in water that almost made me pass out when I opened it. Hire a professional that can source a waterproof container for you. And send me a replacement as my fee for teaching you something so simple. Mic drop

Hard to get top off and too large of container.

First of all the container is too hard to open. I absolutely could not get it open and it took a while for the husband to get it open. For elderly people I would not recommend purchasing because you may not be able to open. The 5lb container only has 10 tables yet the plastic container can hold more that twice that amount. What a waste of plastic!

Raises CYA

As other reviews mentioned, this product raises CYA and QUICK. I was using this along with the CLOROX 6 in 1 shock. Both products utilize trichlor, which raises CYA levels. I have a brand new pool, with a cartridge filter and do a lot of maintenance to keep the pool clean. The issue is within a year of using these products (even less for the CLOROX shock, as I was using a different brand before) my CYA is now out of range (about 110 ppm). I will be switching to liquid chlorine and draining/replacing my water slowly as it is summer now. This is not ideal as I am in California and we are in a drought. The products seem to sanitize fine, but not for long once your CYA levels build up and you have to drain your pool.

5 Lb. Bucket Does NOT Weigh 5 Lbs!

I purchased the 5 lb. bucket at Walmart and it only had 9 tablets in it!! I have accurate postal scales and the entire bucket only weighed 4 lbs. 5 ounces! The package clearly says it is a Net Weight of 5 Lbs.! What a ripoff.

Do Not Buy

This product will cause your pool to not hold chlorine. It contains Copper and will throw your TDS solids off. This is thee worst product you can put in your pool

Impossible to open lid.

I’ve tried for a half hour, and even with a screwdriver can’t open the container.

Works well to a point

Simple system using Clorox pool system. Worked well for two years and then the free chlorine dropped soon after adding chlorine, even though total chlorine was through the roof. Problem was chlorine lock caused by accumulating cyanuric acid levels that were over 200. In Southern California, there are restrictions on excess water use, and the solution is the empty the pool which can’t be done. Chloride should also make tablets and shock without cyanuric acid.

Chlorine level 0 in the highest setting

We bought the tablets in Costco. Used to have our setting on 3, and the chorine levels were a little too high, so we would always keep the setting at 2. Now, with these newly bought XtraBlue tablets the tests show levels between 0 and 1. We changed the setting to 6 (which is maximum setting on our equipment), wouldn’t change the tests results. So bummed! Just bought a whole new box of it!

Weights and measures

Purchased a FIVE (5) pound bucket of 1″ chlorine tablets from Lowes. The bucket felt light in weight from what I perceived was the FIVE pounds. When I returned home, I weighted the 1″ tablet bucket an accurate postal scale. The bucket weighed 3.01 pounds.gross including product. The actual plastic bucket empty weighs 6.08 ounces. The bucket was clearly marked on the label as NET CONTENTS 5 pounds. This is very deceptive to fill with less than 5 pounds net. I complained to the Lowes store customer service who verified the problem. The other buckets on the Lowes shelf were approximately 3 pounds as well.

Never put Chlorine in a skimmer

As a former pool heater repair tech, I would like to point out the issue with Clorox showing a pool skimmer, and mentioning “skimmer sanitizing” by placing chlorine tabs directly into the skimmer. If you really want to destroy your brand new pool heater in literally two weeks, thereby voiding your warranty, this is how you do it! Chlorine EATS copper heat exchanges. You will see pin holes all over your heat exchanger, that quickly turns purple from the corrosive effects of Chlorine being dumped from your skimmer, straight to your heater. It will also destroy the seals on your pool pumps. Bottom line: NEVER add chlorine to your skimmer! Chlorine must be at the end of the plumbing chain, going last into your pool. That way, it gets diluted before reaching your skimmer. An inline chlorinator adds the chlorine into your pool, as your pump pushes it outward. You never want a pool pump yo suck chlorine. Always push it into the pool. Clorox is a great product, but they are not pool techs. I also can’t begin to tell you how many times I have listened to a customer tell me that their local pool chemical store told them to put chlorine into their skimmer. These guys will destroy your pool heater, and blame you when your warranty is voided by the manufacturer.

Horrible Packaging

I bought a 5 # pail of the Clorox Xtra Blue 3″ tablets on an end-of-season sale at Walmart. I will never buy them again. I don’t know how well the tablets work, because I just bought them. However, I had to take a screwdriver to get the lid off. The push-the-corner and simultaneously lift the lid is almost impossible for someone over 65 with arthritis to do. Looks like I will be going back to the pool store to purchase its individually wrapped 3″ tablets. I took the Clorox tablets out of the bucket and put them in an old pool store pail.

The 6 in 1 tablets are the best.

I have used several different tablets and the only one to keep my pool clean, clear and maintenance free are the 6 in 1. You can no longer find them anywhere why? Other than that the best tablets so far.

Long lasting

These tablets do a great job of keeping the pool maintained during the week in between cleanings and treatment we do on the weekends.

Clean and chemistry balanced

Been using the tablets for my inground pool from time the product was introduced on to the market and I have found that they last longer than most of the other products I have used and the chemical balance of the pool is always stable. I have also use some of the other products like the PH increasers and the test kit and they also work very well. I have taken my poolwater to my local pool dealer to be tested and then used the Clorox test kit to test my pool water and the results were almost the same.

Be Very Careful

Be careful when using this product. These tablets contain Cyanuric Acid, a chlorine stabilizer which is great to a certain point. Once you go over that point, it will over-stabilize your chlorine and render it ineffective. So you will add more and more to kill the algae but it won’t work. Once your pool is over-stabilized, the only way to fix it is drain a bunch of water out and refill the pool, which can be expensive. IF you test with strips, you can get a false Cyanuric Acid reading and think you need more chlorine. The only way to test it correctly is to take your water sample to a pool store and let them test it. Clorox probably adds the Cyanuric Acid to get the tabs to last longer. You just have to be very careful that you don’t get too much. I normally use the Clorox products and have had good luck.

I have had to care for a swimming pool my entire life. Nothing…Nothing on the market come close to this product. Don’t new and improved it, don’t add ANYTHING! It ain’t broke so don’t fix it. Clorox knows clean. From cloths bleach to my swimming pool. Thank you for this product.

Great supplement in hot weather!

I have a 15′ oval above ground pool with the SimpleSalt system. Last summer, I found that the system simply couldn’t keep up with the high temperatures and bright sunlight here in Coastal SC. After about a month of struggling with clarifiers and other products (which is why I chose the salt system to begin with – I wanted to do away with all those products!), someone suggested adding one of these tablets to my skimmer once every two weeks. Since then, I have had absolutely no problems with the cloudy water I experienced last year. A great product, and much cheaper than the other additives I was having to buy!

XtraBlue is a Great Product!

Just giving credit where its deserved: your Florida Blue now XtraBlue tabs are EXCELLENT! I’ve used them in my pool for 2+ years now and it needs very little else…maybe an occasional shock in the rainy season. I used to need acid, stabilizer, clarifier, etc, but XtraBlue does it all (my pool water is always balanced and clear, and your tabs last a long time). In Summer of 2018 I use to clean my pool twice a week for green algae. This year I found this xtra blue tablets in Lowe’s and decided to give it a try. Since I got them I don’t have to clean my pool any more works amazing.

Does not kill algea

I have been using this product for about 3-months with the hope of controlling yellow green algae. No luck! I suspect that this product is just chlorine and nothing extra for algae.

Great tablets, don’t fall apart

Love these tablets. 1 of the 3″ tablets will last an entire week in my 11k gal fiberglass pool and they don’t fall apart and become a mushy mess in my auto chlorinator. I tried the HTH tabs and they fell apart and became a mushy mess. Plus these have the activator in them to help maintain chlorine balance – the HTH did not. Each tablet came in its own sealed package that was easy to open without needing scissors.

I purchased and 35 pound container of this product and upon opening the container I about approximately a quarter of the tables were damaged in different sizes. Since I have a utilize a flotation devise this product will not dispense consistently. Additionally, it is hazardous to handle in its crushed and powder form. This product has been effective in the past but not in its present condition.

Excellent product!

This year (2018) was the first year we used this product from beginning to end of summer. We had a BRUTAL summer in the Mid-Atlantic region with excessive (and overwhelming) heat as well as periods of intense rain. Our pool was clear ALL SUMMER LONG! I attribute our water’s appearance to this product. No need to change or check other brands when we have no issues with what we use. Awesome!

Seriously think twice

DO NOT buy/use this product. The “OTHER INGREDIENTS………5.95%” will increase the Cyanuric Acid (CYA) without any control measures in place. There are only two ways to reduce CYA from your pool: 1) drain __% of your pool and refill with fresh water; 2) if someone in your city offers it, there are reverse osmosis trucks that can pull water from your pool, remove the CYA from that water and put it back in your pool. Neither of these options are cheap or fast. If you are unfamiliar with what high levels of CYA will do to your pool water, either google it or continue reading. Either way, RUN from this product because you will eventually regret the results that these “OTHER INGREDIENTS” have on your backyard oasis. CYA acts as a buffer for chlorine from the sun which, in balanced amounts is good. However, once it reaches numbers in the 90+, the chlorine is no longer effective at keeping your water clean so you can have chlorine over 5ppm and the water is still cloudy and green. Before I figured out the problem with my water chemistry, I had bumped the chlorine to 11.5ppm and it was still green because the CYA was around 100. One final note, it isn’t like CYA is some rare unobtainable chemical. It is easily acquired at your local pool store where you can add it in very controlled amounts so it is a real shame that Clorox is hiding it within most of their chlorine products without telling their consumers.

Not crazy about it! I think Hth products are better.Since I started with these tablets I have had nothing but problems. Not string enough.

Not so great

We have an above ground pool and have always bought the hth 6 in 1 tablets. But this year I saw the Clorox 6 in 1 and thought, great brand name, this will work even better. No, that is not the case. Even keeping my water balanced, I am fighting allege and decreasing chlorine numbers. It is supposed to have an algaecide and a stabilizer in the tablets. When using the hth 6 and 1 3″ tablets I never had an algae problem and the stabilizer in it works the way it should keeping my chlorine levels up. I was very disappointed in this product and will go back to the hth tablets next year.

chlorinating tabs

I only use the chlorine tabs of this brand with my liquid chlorine and muriatic acid from another brand. these tablets are the best out there. long lasting and my water is soft and clear. Other tabs dissolve too quickly .

This product was amazing it took care of my problem in one treatment I had been using different Pool Products trying to get the full balance one product wouldn’t work I tried another then I did one treatment one shot treat and just threw in one of your pre-filled chlorine floaters and my pool has been clean clear and silky smooth ever since

No good

We purchased these about two months ago and have had trouble since, it has turned green and we have had the water tested twice. Everything points to the tablets.

Best Product Ever

Been using the Extra Blue since getting my pool remodeled 2 yrs ago. Got lazy & bought Leslie product & totally clouded my gorgeous water…Clorox to the rescue! Thanx:)

I just started using this product this year. I have never had a cleaner or clearer pool! Love these tablets!

I would not use again

I changed to CLOROX Pool & Spa because it made the pool water sparkle blue- BUT no one could swim in it without having a horribly PAINFUL chlorine rash! I even cut amount in half of what directions called for.

Cheaper than Bioguard!

These seem to be the same thing as the Bioguard silk tabs I have purchased in the past except these are about half the cost!

Great tablet

I used the regular tablets before but was not as good as this one. These last longer and have every benefit to them with the 6 in 1. Great stuff!

Fantastic product

Fantastic product. Xtra blue is my preferred choice.Water quality seems crisper and clearer vs. the basic chlorinating tablets.

easy to use

I have been using the 1 inch tablets and tried these, they are very easy to use had a few problems getting them open, but really like the easy usage. don’t seem to use as much as the other tablets

Excellent product

Not only do tablets provide chlorine to our pool – it is packaged very conveniently. At first I was not too keen on individually packaged tablets – especially when using several at a time, but they are easy to open right at the equipment and forego the need for protective gloves.
