Very smart strips and app!

I received the Multiuse Smart Strips and followed the directions for use. I noticed there as an application available to read the strips, so I downloaded it. Very easy to read the strip. I liked the color layout for the water levels and the strips were big enough to handle comfortably. The simple layout of the application and quick results of the test without having to match colors to a piece of paper, was a bonus!

Works great! These strips allow you to check multiple chemical levels at once. The blocks of color are easy to interpret and compare to the chart located right on the bottle. The process is fast and I am confident now in the chemical readings of my pool water.

Hi. My name is Pat, and I live in Fort Pierce, FL. I am 72 years old and have been taking care of my pool for over 20 years. I like products that are easy to use on my concrete/gunite pool, and that get me the results I need quickly. I have found that with Clorox multi-strips which help me to easily test my water and gives me results in less then a minute. I just dip the strip in the water and compare the color on the strip to the color chart on the bottle that the strips come in. It lets me know what l need to fix by either adding product to the pool or what levels I need to lower by using the appropriate decreaser or minus product. It couldn’t be simpler. I use the strips in my hot tub also. I have been using the strips for years and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an easy way to keep pool or spa water perfectly balanced.

I must rather use the strip instead of liquid test

I like using the Clorox pool 6-way test strip to test the pool each time that I’m going to use the pool. It takes the guess work out of what chemical that I need to use. I just need to see how to scan

Way better than off brand

These work fine I found that a lot of test strips or not reliable but these work pretty good. Make sure you shake them off just a little bit and let them sit for a few seconds. Still not as precise as a real liquid dropper style set but it is great for a quick check.

Would recommend using with the app

I have used these test strips with the app and it was helpful in identifying what I needed to do to improve the quality of my pool water. It is easy and clear to read. Although sometimes the colors are not exactly as shown on the guide.

Pool chemistry made easy

I recently started using Clorox Multi-Use Smart Test Strips. I was tired of using the test kits where you had to add 5 drops of this and 2 drops of that to get pool chemistry results. I wanted something that would make life easier with having a pool. The Multi Smart Test Strips were my answer. I downloaded the free Clorox Pool App to my phone and the rest is easy pool chemistry. Just dip test strip in your pool water. Open app, go to scan to test screen, capture picture, and test results appear. It even tells you what chemicals and amounts to add to get your pool looking perfect. It’s a game changer for me in the pool chemistry guessing game. Would highly recommend it.

These strips are super easy to use! They really help with keeping the chemicals right where they should be! And it’s great you can use the app in conjunction with those strips. I use these strips each week to know if I need to add other chemicals to the pool or not.

So convenient!

So convenient to use because not only do they save me visually estimating the readings (though you can spot verify), but it also records the readings in the Clorox Pool app. This way I can compare readings and treatments to gauge effectiveness and what I might need to use more or less of. The app will also take input on your pool size and reccomend what and how much of what to add in order to get the proper level. Best test strips we have ever used , these and the free app and make it very simple to have perfect water all year round. Simple dunk them into the water shake once lightly to get rid of excess water, wait 15 seconds , either compare to the legend on the bottle or take a pic in the free Clorox app. The app will tell you all the values and the needed fix.

I’ve been using these test strips for almost 5 years and have always been happy with the results. I can easily test my above ground pool and quickly make adjustments as needed to have safe, clean water for my grandkids and I to swim in. The strips are very convenient and quickly give accurate readings.I can use the Clorox Pool App or manually compare using the color chart which is what I usually use. There are 30 strips included which gives me just enough to use through the whole summer. I like to test a few hours prior to getting into the pool. This gives me time to add chemicals accordingly. The test strips test for 6 different important levels and you can check with the Clorox experts when you need advice about your results. Makes me look like a pro pool guy

I have tried all the strips from cheap to expensive. I always go back to the smart strips becuase it has features the other do not. I know you say really a pool strip is different yes. The app is the best and super clear and easy to understand and work. It also gives details you would never know with a normal strip.

Terrible app to read the strips

So the problem with these strips is not really the strip themselves but the app. All these pool apps are just terrible. I don’t know why they can’t read the strips better to begin with. Then profile building feels like from iPhone 4 days. So dated. The competition is not much better so they’re both terrible apps.

Clorox smart strips

Strips do a 6 way test while others I’ve used only do 5. Strips don’t give you as accurate a measure as performing a chemical test but they do provide a quick means to check your pool water chemistry.

Great product to maintain the quality of your pool and keep the algae under control considering the amount of rain that we get here in fl it helps us tremendously with tuff areas especially after the rain and a long week of work

Great product

This shock works better than most of the others. I like to use this to clear up cloudy water. Later in the day I follow it up with clarifier and algaecide. Does the trick for me and in swim season I do this about once a week.

Not for a spa

I bought these off a recommendation from a friend, but ran into the same complaint as others. It won’t let me use the app without setting up all of my personal info (no thanks) and entering a pool size. Spa isn’t an option. Too bad. I really liked the idea, the colors all look too similar to my eyes. — rating is for the app, not the strips themselves.

Hard No

Cannot download App since there is no app to download on play store. And even if I could, I can’t open the darn container! Tried everything. Pliers, multiple people. No go and very frustrating. Guess it doesn’t matter if I can download the app or not! And, chose this product because it was Clorox. We’ll look at a different brand. And will be returning today.

great product

I have used your test strips for years and they work great. I’ve never downloaded the app, I just compare the strip to the side of the bottle after all, its not rocket science. You people surely understands once you put the strip in the water its wet no matter how deep you push it!! I use an open top bottle, turn it upside down and push it elbow deep. Then I turn it over collecting water at elbow depth. Then I place the strip into the bottle for my reading.

Can’t read the strip

I can’t download the app because it says it’s to old and my device is to new.

Salt pool

I like the idea of using the strips and then get the reading on my phone so I can treat my pool.

Don’t waste your time or money

If you plan on using one of the big selling points – the picture scan for testing – don’t waste your time or money. It doesn’t work. Doesn’t work at all. Period. I have a brand new tube of strips that I will sell for half price with free shipping if anyone wants them. Awful with no response from the company. Terrible.

App No Longer Recognizes Strips

These strips worked decently well over the last two seasons, but no longer works now. The app keeps popping an error to take a new photo. I have a couple of boxes of overpriced test strips now.

No App

I wish I had known this pool app was only for old phones. What good are test strips without knowing the solution. Next time I will buy a system that works without the guessing because these chemicals are dangerous.

Doesn’t Work

Cannot use product because the android version is for older phones. How am I supposed to use test strips? Seemed like a great system but useless for me. Sad face! 😞

pH reading always inconsistent

These strips are pretty good for the most part. The pH reading seems to always read @ 6.8, so I used my HTH pool test kit and it then reads my pH @ 7.2 so that’s the one I go with. All other readings have been accurate and consistent.

App Doesn’t Work

Clorox hasn’t even updated their app to work on newer Android phones. When the appeal of the product is the utilization of the strips with the app, it isn’t very useful without the app one would think. Ridiculous.

App is not available

I bought these because I believed that the app would have been very nice, I had used it years ago. However the app is no longer available, apparently because the app was never updated for newer versions of phones. You would think a company like Clorox would be on top of this

Can’t use the app with spa

I bought these because I thought it would be easy because of the app but since you can’t enter anything under 1000 gallons, I can’t use it. I will be bringing these back.

Overall, good product

I have found this product to be very useful for Color-Blind people like myself. I can’t manually read the various color differences. The app makes it easy-peasy. I do find a slight variation in the reading depending on the length of exposure time. 15 seconds may not be long enough to get an accurate reading so I generally check it at about 15 sec. and again at about 30-45 sec.

Great Idea, Needs Improvement

I love the idea of using a smartphone to scan a test strip, and I would be happy to spend a little more on a specific strip. However, in my case it doesn’t work. Like others have reported, the strips don’t actually scan. They are either “overexposed” or “blurry.” So, I end up manually entering the data.

First, App is dependent on you making an account, no sandbox mode. Second, forget it if you have a spa, it won’t take anything under 1000 gal. Useless. Third, Strips are good for a quick check, but not as reliable as a reagent test.

Don’t waste your money

Two days ago I was having a problem with my pool and bought the test strips. I thought I had high and in accurate readings based on using these test strips according to the instructions. I started questioning the readings I was getting on the strips and took water samples to 2 Local pool companies the following day. The test strips were totally in accurate comparing it to the two companies that I used. I would not recommend these test strips based on how in accurate they are.$15 waste of money for salt water and chemical balance kit.

Simply Amazing…

I would like to take a minute to tell anyone who has not used these strips on what a game changing experience this is on how you treat your pool. Everything is done for you all you are required to do is do the strip take a picture and the app does the rest. It analyzes each element of the water needed to maintain balanced chemical makeup. Then it tells you to the letter how much and what to add. It makes owing a pool alot less stressful so you ca n stop wondering so much and start swimming. Thank you Clorox for this wonderful invention.

Worthless

I have two My Pool Care Assistant Test Strip kits. I wasn’t seeing changes in the test strips despite adding the recommended amount more than once over a week. I understand under or over shooting my target, but there was no change at all. I went to my local pool store and I overshot the pH. In the process, I no doubt got everything else out of whack. I went looking for community feedback on these strips and apparently they’re terrible. Is Clorox planning to fix them? Now I have good chlorine levels, but who knows what my stabilizer level is, so I don’t know if it’s actually going to do anything.

Not accurate

Chlorine #s accurate. Alkalinity close. PH way off. Reads 6.8 it’s 7.4 on my Taylor test kit (which is very accurate). Strips read 6.8 all the time. The one big one is CYA. And this is where these strips can cost you headaches and dollars. My CYA I know is 60. It’s always on the high side. Repeated tests by Taylor and the local pool store concur, 60-70 depending on how often I dilute. These strips always read 0 CYA and want me to dump a bunch of stabilizer in the pool. Want a quick chlorine scan? Fine. Don’t trust any other numbers these strips give you, or you are gonna have one rough pool season.

Not Accurate

The concept of this product with the scanning app is wonderful. Unfortunately in practice it doesn’t live up to expectations. The readings are not accurate. Chemical testing is much better. The pH reading in particular has never scanned accurately. Also the saved readings process doesn’t work well. It is supposed to save the last 2 days data but saves some readings longer and does not save most recent readings. I will keep on trying to work with the app but it will not be useful for most users.

The tablets do a great job on my pool water. Always test good no problems stays crystal clean.

Frustrating

1 out of 10 strips actually scanned on my phone. Sounds like a good concept, but after days of testing and adding chemicals and purchasing more chempicals…. (because the app tells you to) I’m not even close to where it should be. I’m done being a slave to this Clorox app!! I’m going back to the old fashioned drops and figuring it out myself.

Waste of time and money

Test strips are so unreliable color fades as soon as it hits water? App is worthless every scan is different in every scan even on the same strip. Entered Data both manually and scanned made me buy all Clorox products and the results are a pool I really don’t know if it’s safe to swim in. Don’t waste your time go to a professional pool store for advice it’s cheaper. I have all Clorox products and test after test something is wrong and more chemicals are needed may need to just completely replace the water. It’s very easy to use but it’s very inaccurate.

Great Stuff

Purchased the water test strips. Clorox has an app for checking the strips after dipping. It’s the greatest idea I have come across in a long time for my pool. My pool levels are perfect. No more, a little of this, a little of that. Thank you Clorox, you make me look good.

Clorox test kit doesn’t work

3 weeks and about $500 later I just realized the app instructions differ vary much from back of bottles, so try follow bottle instructions and they fail to work to maintain clear water. Went to a local retailer and had water tested and they ask what direction I was following and when I said Clorox they laughed at me and told me that they sell most of there stuff because of what Walmart products will do to the water. My first thought was great time to spend more but the guy sold me clarifier & shock & a basic water test dip kit for $56.00 so took it home and put it in last night & bam! Clear pool! Clorox products don’t work well for me!

Easy to use, tracks history and tells you what is needed. Reading isn’t always perfect (scan it a few times and the reading will vary). Yet, my pool always looks great. Additionally, if you have any color vision issues, this product solves that problem.

This is a bit in consistant. The photo struggles to get it right. Even when entering manually the strip has a hard time reading the numbers properly. I still have to use a liquid test to augment.

Test Kit

Works well with the exception of the PH. The PH always shows low when it’s actually a bit on the high side. Sometimes the App struggles to take a picture of the test strip for instant analysis.

Very easy to use, a lifesaver.

I’ve been using the Clorox test strips as my primary means of keeping track of my water quality and when comparing the results with my professional kit, found the results to be fairly accurate. It’s honestly a godsend to be able to walk out, dip a strip into the pool and see how things are looking without having to fuss with drops. The only challenges I’ve found are that you have to be quick between when you dip the strip and when you scan it, and the app can be somewhat slow to respond when you try bring up the scanner (which uses your phones camera to take a picture of the strip). Getting the scanner to work in bright conditions can also be difficult. When doing this in the middle of the day, you may need to find a shady spot so that the image isn’t overexposed (too bright). If it wasn’t for the slowness with bringing up the scanner, I would give this product 5 stars.

AWESOME

This is awesome, after entering the amount of water into the app I know exactly what I need to put in my pool. Half of the people around us use a pool company to keep their pool clean. Just put the stick in the water and then lay it on the piece of plastic and take a picture in the app. in a couple seconds it tells you exactly what you need to add to the water. The first time I tested this I immediately took water to the pool company and had them test it (didn’t tell them why). The results were identical, they told me to add the exact same things.
