Light weight on 5# bags

I’ve been using this product for a while now, it’s economical and a handy size bag. Although I’ve almost always had to add more product than recommended, it does work. My beef today is I just weight the gross bag weight of two of my unopened bags. Both bags gross weigh was less than 80oz (including the bag). So the gross weight of average was 77.5oz. Not a big deal to a consumer, but not a good look for a corporation with a good name to be under the advertised weight of their product.

Awesome Products!!

My first pool. I heard Clorox had awesome products so that’s what I tried. It’s been a sparkling clear summer. Along with the app. It has helped me to that. Keeps your water perfect!

Not effective

I have repeatedly added the largest recommended amount for my pool and my ph hasn’t reduced in the slightest bit. I have wasted days trying to balance my pool’s ph with this product to no avail. Never buying again.

Easy to use

I use the Clorox strip and after following the directions and then retesting the water all the levels balanced out and the pool was crystal clear

scale/balance for measuring pool chemicals

The volume to weight conversion of any dry powder/granular material is very dependent upon the particle size and shape, how they pack, and other factors. Using a scale/balance is the most accurate and reproducible. It is well worth having a scale/balance or measuring granular/powdered materials. an inexpensive battery operated kitchen scale can be found as low as about $7 (try walmart).

OZ?

Yeah, have seen other reviews talking about this. It is really boneheaded not to give a volume instead of a weight for dosage. Who has a scale that measures in oz? Not very many people. Come on clorox, if you can’t figure this out, how are we supposed to trust your product?

The chemistry and quality of this product is, of course, excellect. It’s Clorox. I came to their web site on the package to find an ounce to volume conversion. I agree with other reviewers that this needs to be on the package. The conversion won’t be perfect, but https://www.aqua-calc.com/calculate/volume-to-weight is available to help all of us for practical purposes. We’re supposed to add in increments and we’re aiming for a fairly wide range of results for pool care. This is certainly good enough. It’s not for precise laboratory results. Clorox, please post your own version or recommend someone else’s existing converter. I understand the legal challenges, but you need to find something practical for real world pool care customers.

Information minimal

Had to go to amazon to read reviews on application rates for my pool. Why doesn’t clorox web page have information on dosage, usage, FAQ, and/or ANY information on the product except add to cart…

Product worked as directed as do all of Clorox Pool Products. I only use their products for my pool.

Dosage

It is a dry product…..and dosage is on OZ?????? It would be smart and fair if you inform the dosage in an other type of measure…..like a cup….

add ozs

it may be a great product, but the instructions are to add x ounces. its a powder, so i suppose we need a scale to measure ounces? would be nice if there was translation for some kind of volume measurement like cups, tbs, tsp or whatever.

Never in Stock

I need to use this product weekly and it is almost impossible to find in Clearwater, FL stores. Publix, Lowes and Walmart are always out of stock. What seems to be the problem? Guess I’ll have to go back to using Muriatic Acid.

Works for hot tub

Works good on small hot tub. Use one capful over several days to lower ph

Easy to use

I like this MUCH better than liquid acid. This seems more expensive than acid BUT I think it’s better than it seems at first because this product seems to go further. With the granules I don’t need to worry about splashing. This is easy to use. Much easier to measure. I think the results are faster than acid also. I received this free in exchange for this review.

Ph Down

Had to use this product when we opened our pool up this yr. Product was great, easy to use and did the trick in lowering the ph in our pool!

Works fast!

This was our first year with a pool. We filled with our garden hose and started off with a high ph level. This product worked quickly and efficiently!

I finally was able to use this product the other day. It seemed I went a little overboard with the pH up. It worked as well as the pH Up product. I do recommend if anyone ever needs to lower their ph levels down.

Why?

At this time I cannot recommend this product. Love your app but it keeps telling me to add this to lower the PH. Been trying for two months and about twenty-five pounds or so and it doesn’t put a dent in the PH so my chlorine will not work. In twenty-seven years of owning a pool I have never had this problem.

Easier to use than acid

is keeping my ph in check, and is much easier than handling acid.

Fixed my mistake

I accidentally put too much pH up in my pool and was having people over later in the day. I followed the instructions and it dropped my pH within a few hours.

Easier than liquid acid

I am always afraid of dealing with liquid acid and what can happen. This is WAY easier and I really like it.

Works very well!

The ph down works very good, almost too good. I used it to control a ph spike last week by following the chart on back. I have noticed that it tends to drop the ph too much by following the chart, so I half it and then check the ph again.

easy to use

I normally use muratic acid to lower my PH level, but this is so much easier and accurate with a chart to refer to on the bottle based on my readings. I don’t have to worry about splashing dangerous acid onto my self or decorative stone lining my pool now with this product.

Not much luck

Seems like I don’t have much luck with this. I put it in and the next day it ask for more. And again and again. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

This product has lowered my pH quickly and has maintained it at a good level for several weeks. I had bought gallon after gallon of muriatic acid to keep the pH down, but this product does it better and lasts longer.

Good Brand Product

Haven’t had to bring down the pH of in-ground pool this year. Usually have to go with the pH up product. Being a Clorox product I have on the shelf, will be ready if neede.

quick acting – I usually have problems with low pH but with all the rain ithis summer, I’ve had both problems (low and high + algae growth and other problems that come with monsoon like rains.) Clorox is my ‘go-to’ brand of choice!!

Clorox’s pool and spa pH down is a great product. It is easy to use along with the Clorox Smart Strips and Clorox app at getting the right amount of pH down to help lower the pH levels. The product dissolves quickly and helped to lower my pools pH levels.

With my salt water pool I have to lower the pH more often especially with a lot of rain which we have had this year so far.

Good but…

I usually use muriatic acid and this seems safer and easier to handle. How ever the directions for use by the app uses pounds and ounces, so you need to weigh out the amount recommended amount-who keeps a scale for that? Also it is very slow to dissolve.

no effect

it had no effect took sample to pool store told me the ph was at 8.1. so i got this product and sense nothing has happen

Didn’t work

I had a ph of 7.8, added the ph down, and the next day it was over 8.4! Nothing has changed, no rain or debris. Wasn’t effective and made things worse. I buy all of my products from Clorox and have spent a lot with them and am not happy at all, very disappointing.
