The Clorox™ Pool&Spa “My Pool Care Assistant” is your personal, mobile water test center. “My Pool Care Assistant” delivers your test results, poolside, at your convenience, to help you measure important water values. Your personalized results will show you which Clorox™ Pool&Spa™ products and in what amounts to add to your pool or spa.

“My Pool Care Assistant” can help make your weekly pool or spa care routine simpler and faster than ever, so you can enjoy cleaner, clearer water and reduce the need for specialty treatments.

Here’s how to get started

To begin using Clorox™ Pool&Spa™ “My Pool Care Assistant”, you need the scan card, test strips, and the free mobile application available for your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Your mobile water test kit package contains:

  1. One scan card – Use this card for Photo Scans. Do not discard or lose. This card is calibrated to the test strips in your mobile water test kit
  2. 25 test strips – These strips will be used for Photo Scans and manual tests

Step One: Download The Free Mobile Application

If this is your first time using your kit, you must first download the free mobile app to your smartphone or tablet.

To download the free mobile app:

  1. Search Clorox™ Pool&Spa™ “My Pool Care Assistant” on the AppStore or on Google Play. Alternatively, please click the following links:

  2. Select the “My Pool Care Assistant” icon to download
  3. Find the new “My Pool Care Assistant” icon that will now appear on your smartphone or tablet. This icon indicates that the “My Pool Care Assistant” app was successfully downloaded and is ready for use.

Step Two: Create Your “My Pool Care Assistant” Account

“My Pool Care Assistant” requires that you create an account to access all of the features of the application. We store information about your pool or spa on your account so that we can deliver you more accurate results.

To create an account:

  1. Tap the “My Pool Care Assistant” icon on your device to launch the application
  2. On ”My Pool Care Assistant”’s first screen, tap “Login”
  3. Tap the red “Register” button to create your account
  4. Enter your first name, last name, email address, and password. Tap the green “Create Account” button once you have entered this information
  5. Type name of retailer where you purchased your “My Pool Care Assistant” kit. This will ensure proper configuration of the app
  6. The License Agreement/Terms and Conditions will appear. You must accept terns to proceed to the next screen

Step Three: Add details about your pool or spa to your account

  1. Enter a name or descriptor of your pool or spa
  2. Choose preferred units of measurement (metric or Imperial)
  3. Specify volume of your pool or spa. If you do not know the  volume, you may tap the “Show Volume Calculator” button to use our convenient Pool Volume Calculator, which will ask you to specify shape, width, length, and depth of your pool to calculate water volume
  4. Specify whether the site you are adding is a pool or spa
  5. Enter your pool or spa’s location so that we may tailor the shopping list we present you with, based on regional availability
  6. Enter construction details about your pool or spa including the type of sanitizer you use, and your pool size in gallons, to increase the accuracy of your test results
  7. Provide details on any alternative sanitizers you may use, such as minerals, ozone, ultraviolet, or copper ionizer
  8. Tap the “Submit” button to add your pool or spa to your account
  9. Provide additional details on the chemicals you typically use in your pool or spa through the drop down menus on the screen
  10. Tap “Submit” to finish setting up your pool or spa
  11. After successfully adding your pool or spa to your account, you should be returned to the home screen. At the top of the screen, you should see text saying, “Site added successfully.” If you do not see this text, please tap “Settings”, then tap “Add Site” to reattempt to add your site to your account. To add additional pools or spas to your account, please tap “Settings”, then tap “Add Site.”

Step Four: Test Your Water

“My Pool Care Assistant” provides two options for testing your water: you may use a Photo Scan or perform a Manual Test.

To Perform a Photo Scan

For accurate results, ensure that the picture is taken within 45 seconds of removing the test strip from your pool.

  1. Tap the Photo Scan icon on the “My Pool Care Assistant” home screen. This will automatically access your device’s camera
  2. Dip a test strip at least 6” into your pool or spa water, and wait two seconds for the test strip to respond to your pool’s water chemistry
  3. Remove the test strip from the water with the absorbent pads face up
  4. Shake the test strip once to remove excess water
  5. Place the test strip on the scan card, according to the alignment shown below:
  6. Frame the scan card and test strip in the “Photo Scan” window of your device, and snap a picture of the test strip held against the scan card. For accurate results, ensure that the picture is taken within 45 seconds of removing the test strip from your pool.

Please allow at least 45 seconds for “My Pool Care Assistant” to process your water test data submitted by your smartphone or tablet.

To perform a Manual Test

  1. Tap the Manual Test icon on the “My Pool Care Assistant” home screen.
  2. Dip a test strip at least 6” into your pool or spa water, and wait two seconds for the test strip to respond to your pool’s water chemistry
  3. Remove the test strip from the water with the pads face up
  4. Shake the test strip once to remove excess water
  5. Using the back of the test strip bottle as a guide, compare the color of the pads on the test strip to the color of the pads on the test strip bottle to determine your pool’s free chlorine or bromine (if applicable),alkalinity, pH, and hardness.
  6. Enter these measurements into the application
  7. Click “Add Test” to submit your test for processing.Please allow at least 45 seconds for “My Pool Care Assistant” to process your water test data that you have entered manually

My Pool Care Assistant will then analyze your water chemistry.  When the results are ready:

  1. “My Pool Care Assistant” will then display results of your test including your pool’s free chlorine or bromine (if applicable),alkalinity, pH, and hardness On the “Test Results” page, you may tap on “Details” to display information about your results, including what Clorox™ Pool&Spa™ products should be added, and how the products should be used.
  2. On the Test Results page, you may tap on “Shopping List” to receive a suggested list of products needed to adjust your pool water to ideal levels.
  3. Tap on “Find my Store” on the Main Menu to receive directions to and contact information for your local retailers that carry Clorox™ Pool&Spa products.

For Best Results:

  • Keep wet fingers out of the test strip bottle
  • Close cap tightly after removing test strips
  • In pools, immerse test strip to a depth of 6”
  • For best results read in natural daylight
  • Store the test strips in a cool, dry place
